Sprayseal insulate Stores building at National Grid site in Lincoln.

Sprayseal applied a 50mm thickness of foam to the underside of a single skin metal roof and the internal surfaces of the pre-cast concrete walls to reduce heat loss and solar gain.

The building is in use 24 hours per day for 7 days a week so scheduling the work was critical. The weekend is a quieter time so the work was booked in to be done over a weekend. Access to the areas to be sprayed was difficult as there were rows of racking containing spares etc. The racking had to be covered to protect it from overspray and a narrow width mobile scaffold tower was used to access the roof.

The work was carried out on schedule and the early feedback is that there is a big improvement in the thermal performance of the building.
