Condensation Build Up
Condensation build up is probably one of the most common problems in the home and often leaves walls or ceilings with dark and damp patches. These problems are often a result or poor insulation and poor airflow within rooms.
What Is Condensation?
The air around us always to some degree contains moisture but is simply not visible to the human eye. However when the air gets colder it cannot contain the moisture particles and therefore tiny water droplets start to appear. This process is called condensation. You will often notice the mirror mist over when you take a shower. This is a result of condensation.
So Why Would Condensation Insulation Help?
There are several properties to insulation which makes it ideal for protecting against condensation. Firstly insulation has a number of ventilation type properties which allow for cold and hot air to be distributed and contained evenly. Also most insulation types work on a convection basis which means (naturally) hot air rises while displacing cold air, which moves down. Having an evenly balanced air flow stops the build up of moisture particles and allows for valuable heat to be retained within the building.
